How to enable Encryption for outgoing mails

#1

I am trying to enable ssl(encryption), as mail send from openpass showing as not encrypted in gmail. I installed ssl certificates from (https://letsencrypt.org) and enabled secure in mail setup by following https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/james-email-sever-3-with-let-s-encrypt/33451/11
However mails are not going out as encrypted.

Please help

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi,

Can you precisely describe what you did regarding ssl? SSL is used in different layers: in smtpserver.xml and imapserver.xml, SSL must be configured for clients to be able to connect to James in a secure way.
To allow James to use a secure connection when sending an email, you have to look at the RemoteDelivery mailet which is configured in the mailetcontainer.xml file. See https://james.apache.org/server/dev-provided-mailets.html#RemoteDelivery

Raphaƫl.
